Nicole O'Banon
Camp Director
Nicole O'Banon rejoined her alma mater in June of 2022 as Volleyball's Director of Operations.
O'Banon, formerly Thomas, previously worked for Roots Volleyball in Austin as the director and Treehouse Gym Facility Coordinator. She also was previously a coach and director for TCS.
She played for Ryan McGuyre as a middle blocker from 2016-19, as part of BU's winningest class. She was a four-year letter winner at the No. 1-ranked program and helped lead her team to a Big 12 Conference title and NCAA National Semifinal appearance in 2019. In her time at Baylor, O’Banon appeared in 57 matches and hit .201 on her career.
She was leader in the Baylor Huddle of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and was a four-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection, Academic All-Big 12 Selection, and winner of the Baylor Athletics Spark Leadership Award.
She graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors in 2019. Her previous coaching experience includes Baylor University Volleyball Camps (2016-2019) with 2019 AVCA Division 1 Coach of the year Ryan McGuyre and private lessons. She is IMPACT and SafeSport certified.
O'Banon was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia where her family still resides. She married Broden O'Banon in August of 2020 in Waco.
